If you aren’t familiar with Google maps on the iPhone, it has this traffic view option where it overlays the traffic conditions on the major roads in the area. Brad and I were heading out to Willie’s Ski shop in Fairfax to get Brad some goggles and a helmet for our Jackson Hole trip. We were stuck in some annoying stop-and-go accident traffic on 66 and we wanted to get off and bypass the accident. We were using our iPhone 3G’s with GPS to go around the traffic and we found the traffic information was very accurate allowing us to get off, avoid the red area, and get back on 66 past the accident. I was very impressed with the accuracy of the traffic data. Score one for Google and their traffic data gathering relationships.
